In the late seventies, a Broadway producer, Lewis Friedman, arranged for me to have a weekly radio program, "The Young Musician," on the Municipal Radio Station of New York City (WNYC). The idea was to invite composers who had written works for young pianists to play and speak about them in their presence. On other occasions, I would simply explicate and perform comparable works created by composers of the past. The broadcast continued for five years.
